It was co-organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Collaboration Office and the Unicorn Innovation Committee of the China Association of Inventions, with academic support from the Tsinghua New Quality Productivity Research Institute and the China Private Enterprise Research Center of Renmin University.

During the event, the Global Unicorn Research Institute, the Beijing Institute of Invisible Unicorns, Tsinghua’s New Quality Productivity Research Institute, Renmin University’s China Private Enterprise Research Center, and the Capital University of Economics and Business jointly released the “2025 China Top 500 Invisible Unicorn Enterprises Report.”

In addition to the report, the conference unveiled the “Unicorn Enterprise Classification and Evaluation Standard Guide”, launched the China Unicorn Enterprise Evaluation & Incubation Project, and introduced the UP China Tech-Innovation Entrepreneurs Club — all aimed at helping businesses seize new industrial trends and capitalize on innovation-driven opportunities in the era of technological transformation.

In his keynote, Li Qingwen, President of the Beijing Institute of Invisible Unicorn Information Technology, stressed the need for a scientific and standardized evaluation system to identify enterprises with true innovation capabilities. Xie Shujuang, Chief Architect of the Global Top 500 Unicorn Project and President of the Unicorn Innovation Committee under the China Association of Inventions, officially released and interpreted the “2025 China Top 500 Invisible Unicorns Report.” The total valuation of the 2025 Top 500 invisible unicorns surpassed 2.2 trillion RMB, exceeding the GDP of Hangzhou in 2024 — a 3.14% YoY increase. The average valuation reached 4.4 billion RMB, up 134 million RMB from the previous year. 105 new companies entered the list while 105 companies dropped off — including 8 that went public, 4 that exited through M&A, and 17 that graduated into full unicorns. Meanwhile, 2,676 enterprises were eliminated from the list.

The conference formally announced the launch of: The China Unicorn Enterprise Comprehensive Evaluation & Incubation Program, and The UP China Tech-Innovation Entrepreneurs Club. According to Cai Jiming, NPC Deputy and Director of Tsinghua's New Quality Productivity Research Institute, over the next five years, the initiative aims to incubate 500 standard unicorns, 5,000 invisible unicorns, and 50,000 seed-stage unicorns across China.
